Fugue is a music writing technique
A piece written entirely “in fugue” is itself a fugue
Fugue: “discussion of a compact melodic idea, by a definite number of voices, in imitation. Each of the”voices" are independent, both rhythmically and melodically, but together they are harmonically dependent.
In exposition, each voice enters the piece, along with a dominant answer to that voice
